‘There is a God of football’. So said Roberto De Zerbi on the night when a late winner against Manchester United made it feel that our dream of playing European football could become a reality.

Nine months on from this momentous night and we haven’t just competed in Europe, we have excelled – topping a group containing former European Cup winners Ajax and Marseille, and Europa League regulars AEK Athens.

There is a God of Football, completed in February 2024, honours perhaps the greatest manager in the history of our special football club. The man who delivered these miracles is now rightly celebrated on the walls of the city as a mark of our devotion, love and passione.

MURAL #2: THERE IS A GOD OF FOOTBALL

There is a God of Football is painted by local artist and Albion match-goer Guy Favela (@guy.favela), whose beautiful and striking portrait work can be seen across Brighton.

The mural is located in a prominent city centre location, five or so minutes from Brighton Station - say a prayer as you pass on matchdays.

This is our second mural, but not our last. At Dogma we feel that Albion-related artwork is underrepresented on the streets of Brighton (and Hove) and are working hard to rectify this. Potential wall-donors, please get in touch.

With thanks to Brighton & Hove City Council and New England House for facilitating permissions and permits.
